Reading this made me so happy ! I love your mum’s persimmons and I love Joe (please say more who is Joe) and I love the image of the dinner party & the icy evening air. I wanna make this now. Good luck getting flour tomorrow or when the snow clears xx
amazing inaugural post!!! surprises around every corner!!! who is joe? what does someone do with that many persimmons?? when will you be able to buy more flour??? can't wait for the next episode to maybe get some answers!!!
First, Eartha Kitt, you vixen!! I wish I could ship you some nooch. (If the snow doesn't kindly recede I am actually going to ship you some flour and nooch.) This looks outrageously divine, and I'm jealous of Joe; you and your mom are the best cooks I know! This blog is already exceeding my expectations. Everyone should subscribe to this substack!! Suspense, wit, excellent writing, tantalizingly good food--what more could anyone want? [P.S. Let me know about that Pumfu once you inevitably do something amazing with it to impress your boo. I've never heard of it before, but I am intrigued...] Sending you and your mom love!
This is belated, but did you get any responses or inspiration about the pumfu yet?? I have had some in my fridge for so long! It feels like one of those veg ingredients that is to expensive and rare to waste with an ad hoc preparation.
